Los Angeles, CA – On Thursday, October 23, seven-time GRAMMY Award-winner Taylor Swift will close down Hollywood Boulevard for an exclusive concert before thousands of fans on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” Taylor will also be the late-night host’s in-studio guest in her first late-night appearance to promote her highly anticipated new album “1989” featuring the No. 1 international hit “Shake It Off,” which has topped Billboard’s Pop, HotAC and Hot 100 charts and exceeded sales of two million downloads.
On Monday, October 27, the release day of “1989,” Taylor will appear on “Good Morning America” for a sit-down interview with ABC News anchor Robin Roberts. Later that week, on Thursday, October 30, the superstar returns to GMA for an epic concert in the heart of New York City, where she will perform multiple songs from “1989.”
On Wednesday, October 29, Taylor will be the featured guest on “The View,” where she will talk with Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O’Donnell, Rosie Perez and Nicolle Wallace about the success of her new album and her career. Taylor writes all of her own songs and is the youngest artist in history to win the music industry’s highest honor, the GRAMMY Award for Album of the Year. She is the first artist since the Beatles (and the only female artist in history) to log six or more weeks at No. 1 with three consecutive studio albums.
Taylor’s new song ‘Out of the Woods’ from her new album ‘1989’ has just been released and it sounds amazing. I am loving this new sound from her and I cannot wait to hear the rest of the album. What do you think of the new song? Let us know! You can listen to it below.
Taylor Swift can’t shake this award off.
The singer has been named the 2014 Billboard Woman of the Year — the first artist to ever receive the honor twice.
“As one of the most influential artists of her generation, Taylor Swift has seen incredible success on the Billboard charts,” said Janice Min, co-president and chief creative officer of Guggenheim Media’s Entertainment Group, which consists of Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter. “Over the course of her career, she’s charted 60 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 — the most of any female artist since her debut in 2006. We are tremendously excited to be honoring her as the 2014 Billboard Woman of the Year for the second time.”
The award goes to the female artist who “has shaped and inspired the music industry with her success, leadership and innovation over the past twelve months.”
Taylor Swift is a seven-time Grammy winner, and is the best-selling digital music artist of all time. She’s also the only female artist in music history (and just the fourth artist ever) to twice have an album hit the 1 million first-week sales figure (2010’s Speak Now and 2012’s Red). Swift made her latest chart headlines when her newest single, “Shake It Off,” became her second Billboard Hot 100 No. 1, following “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.”
“On behalf of American Express, I would like to congratulate Taylor Swift on this incredible honor,” said Deborah Curtis, vice president of entertainment and sports marketing at American Express. “We are proud to be a long-time partner of Taylor’s and are thrilled for her continued success and well-deserved recognition as Billboard’s Woman of the Year.”
Swift will be feted at the 9th annual Billboard Women in Music Awards on Dec. 12 in New York City.
Taylor Swift’s mantra for revamping her life? Shake it up.
“The last couple of years have been about defining life on my own terms,” the singer, 24, tells PEOPLE in this week’s 40th Anniversary issue.
The superstar, whose evolving style previously nabbed her the top spot on PEOPLE’s Best Dressed list, pays homage to the magazine’s history on this week’s cover with a pose that echoes Mia Farrow’s iconic Great Gatsby look from the inaugural issue in 1974.
“Being on my own, prioritizing my girlfriends, my family and my music above everything else and trying things I never thought I’d try,” Swift says of the personal changes she has made. “It’s really been a liberating and freeing time.”
In a candid interview during a London stop on the press tour for her new album 1989, the Grammy winner opens up about replacing headlines about boyfriends and breakups with a new focus on her chart-topping career – including her smash single, “Shake It Off.”
“I made the decision to spend time on my own and figure out who I am,” she says of embracing the single life.
“When you take the other person out of the scenario and you’re walking through life on your own, you end up figuring out what you actually like without anyone else’s input.”
With her cats Meredith and Olivia Benson – and an inner circle of ambitious, multi-talented friends that includes Girls star and author Lena Dunham, singer Lorde and actress Jaime King – she’s in no rush to find a guy.
“I’m not too worried about whether I meet someone,” she says. “I’m going to be happy either way.”
She’s previously released three perfumes, which have proved popular with adoring fans.
And now American singer Taylor Swift is releasing a fourth scent, but this time the fragrance will be launched in Australia in November.
The 24-year-old is expected to touch down in Oz in the coming months and while Down Under she will debut her brand new album in 1989.
The Grammy Award-winner’s new fragrance will be exclusively available at department store Myer on November 23, before selected pharmacies and rival department store David Jones will also stock the perfume from December 7.
The scent is a composition of velvety petals and creamy woods, wrapped in a soft veil of vanilla and musk.
While unlucky for some, the singers favourite number 13 is embossed in the gold metalized cap.
Taylor’s upcoming trip to Oz will see her promote her new album 1989 as well as her hit song Shake It Off.
She will also perform during the grand final of X Factor Australia in late October, bringing her unique energy to the reality show.
